I’ve been wondering for a while now how I was going to find someone who could build me a very simple and affordable website for my architectural business. I had put the word out amongst people I knew in the trade, but all I was getting back was tales of mediocre sites created by people locally, which cost an absolute arm and a leg! I decided to take my search online to try and see if I could find a nice small company who offered this sort of service.

I have to be honest and say that I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for, but I did come across something even better! A website which was dedicated to advertising freelancers specifically for people like me! This site allowed you to post jobs that you needed doing, and the idea was for these freelancers to bid for the work. It cost me nothing to put up a message about the sort of site I needed building and within twenty four hours I had offers pouring in! The great thing was that I had the opportunity to have a look at people’s idea’s and most of them provided links to previous work they had carried out, so I could get a real feel for the sort of work they would be able to do for me. The quality was high and the cost was low – it really was a no brainer! I now have the best site of any architect in my region, and I’d bet that I paid a lot less for the privilege too!

The Writing section, being the latest addition to the SAT, perplexes students. SAT exam score are important for college admission. There is no denying this fact. Writing, for a number of students, is a boring affair. Either they fail to develop a thought-flow to pen down, or find it difficult to express their ideas in a cogent manner. How to organize your writing and better your scores on the SAT? This write-up will serve as a step-by-step guide will simplify the SAT writing approach, and thus aid you to register better SAT exam scores.

Understanding the SAT Essay Section

The essay section on the SAT analyzes how a student organizes and supports his/her ideas and presents it in a clear way. College and high school teachers generally judge the SAT essays. Students are given 25 minutes to write an essay. One must write in pencil. College Board says that essays are judged on critical thinking, organization, sentence formation, choice of words and other factors such as grammar, spelling and usage. Using the first-person point of view is advisable as teachers would look or your own opinion.

Your essay must incorporate relevant examples to support your view-point. Broad generalizations are not what teachers look for in an essay. Therefore, you must provide specific examples to illustrate your point. Avoiding blanket statements using words like ‘always’ and ‘everyone’ can help you impress the jury.

How to get a good score

The most important thing to remember while attempting a SAT essay is to follow the directions. Try answering the question. Most students stray from the given context and start writing about something that has not directly been asked. Most SAT essays contain a passage from a specific author related to a particular topic. Do not forget to refer to this while you write the essay, in addition to offering your point of view.

Do you practice pre-writing? If not, include this aspect in your SAT test preparation plan. When you take SAT practice tests, and attempt the essay section, always make it a point to outline your ideas before starting to write. There are primarily three parts of an essay- introduction, body and conclusion. Ensure that you draft an easy using these parameters. Literary examples are not necessary to be mentioned in your essay. However, if you feel that sing one would not be irrelevant, go ahead and cite in your essay.

While it is important to be confident, being too sure of yourself can sometimes mislead you. Proofreading is the last, but an important part of good essay writing. You should set aside at least five minutes to proofread your essay. Man times, when you would proofread our essay, you would come across some spelling errors, grammar issues and other usage-related problems. If an extra five minutes can make your essay more impressive, I see no reason why you should not proofread it.

The techniques mentioned here need not only be applied on the actual SAT. These need to be implemented from Day 1 of your SAT test preparation program.

By: Shashank S

About the Author:

Often considered as the most difficult forms of essay writing, an art essay has to address the question of artistic temperament with great care. The most important thing to consider is the appropriate choice of subject. It becomes a daunting task if the writer is unfamiliar with the field chosen. Make the description vivid and ensure that the artist in question is properly researched. Let us now look at some of these points in greater detail.

Choosing the domain: The first step is to choose a domain of art that you are comfortable with. Always choose an appealing genre like visual art, music or literature. Based on your subject knowledge you can accurately represent not only your own ideas but also the artist’s portrayal.. Effective research: Research the topic that you have chosen extensively and intensively before you go about writing the art essay. It helps for you to gather information from books, journals, libraries and online databases. Websites also provide valuable information that will help with the overall essay. Load your essay with information that you can easily find on sites and online libraries. Express creative ideas: Be creative and express your ideas flexibly. Always remember that it is art you are talking about, write freely about how the piece under consideration makes you feel. Be bold in your approach and do not hesitate to include illustrations in the body of your text. Apart from the basic parts, namely the introduction, body and conclusion you can easily brighten the text up by quoting excerpts and including references of prominent critics. Be assertive about your understanding: Easier said than done, it is not so simple to assert your notion into the frame. Compare your assertion to writing a thesis statement; it will give you the freedom to express your thoughts on the subject at hand. Do not hesitate to be critical of the artist if the need arises it will solidify your understanding of the subject. Remember the basics of essay structure: Remember that you still have to stick to the basics of essay structure. Address the key issues at the beginning when you introduce the topic, make sure that the introduction does not contain argumentative sentences. Express your understanding in the body of the essay. You can also include examples and give counter arguments. Remember that it is in the body that you can freely discuss the topic. The conclusion has to discuss the answers to any questions that rise in the reader’s mind. An art essay is incomplete without a proper conclusion. Proofread and edit: Always make it a point to proofread and edit your piece. An art essay like any other form of essay can very well be rewritten if the need arises.

Be sure to refer to external sources so you can provide the best updated information. An art essay needs to be closely associated to the writer in order to make it highly effective.

By: Pramod Hingmang

About the Author:

Students often have essay writing activities in almost all of their subjects. The initial step is usually to decide on what topic to discuss. But the next big decision that essay writers confront is what type of essay to employ. What technique works for the selected topic? What kind of writing style is suitable? What tone is efficient?

In choosing what essay type is appropriate to use, students need to fully understand the difference between each type. Here are the common types of essays that can help students on their paper writing activities:

1.	Persuasive or argumentative essay

A persuasive or argumentative essay makes a claim or position regarding a subject for the main purpose of persuasion. It is usually presented with statistics, expert opinions, and well-supported arguments about a claim or controversy. In using an argumentative tone in essay writing, it is essential that the issue to be discussed is two-sided wherein the writer takes a stand. Also, the main argument must be clear, exact, and highly focused.

2.	Comparison and Contrast essay

This type of essay writing takes two subjects and identifies their similarities and differences. A good comparison and contrast paper possesses a valid basis for comparison – a limited focus and catchy information. In writing essay using compare and contrast, it is vital that the purpose for comparing and contrasting the two subjects is made clear. This purpose is crucial because it provides focus to the paper.

3.	Descriptive essay

Descriptive essays’ aim is to provide a vivid picture of a certain person, place, object, or event. It offers concise details that enable the readers to imagine the subject described. Generally, descriptive essays explain the “what, why, when, where, and how” of a topic.

4.	Definition essay

Definition essay writing demands writers to present a meaning of a term that goes beyond the objective definition offered in the dictionary. Essay writers need to provide a more focused and exact description of the term than what is offered in reference sources.

5.	Narrative essay

A narrative essay tells a story in a sequence of events. This type of essay is told from a defined point of view, often the author’s. It offers specific and often sensory details to get the reader involved in the elements and sequence of the story. Verbs must be vivid and precise.

6.	Evaluation essay

The prime purpose of this essay writing style is to form judgment on certain ideas, places, services, etc. basing on clear-cut criteria. An informed opinion is critical to the development of this essay. It is important to use facts, statistics and other authoritative resources to establish and organize the criteria to present a substantial analysis and evaluation.

Essay writing is just one tough kind of various paper writing activities. Students usually ask for professional essay help to assist them on what type of approach or style to use in their composition.

By: Laura Medel Nelson

About the Author:

The primary goal of writing the opinion essay isn’t to let followers know that your opinion in handling a specific issue is important. Your main purpose may be allow them know of your view or your standing on either a basic or difficult matter and they should to understand that your position is really crucial to you.

Opinion essay writing has grown to be one of the most common varieties of writing nowadays. Whether it is world wide web blog publishing or essay writing at college level, opinion essay composing is always present. Pupils at college level are trained just how to write an opinion essay so that in the long term they can frame the proper sentences and make use of the proper text while composing an opinion essay. Moreover, it helps the student to make the appropriate impression regarding the subject matter on which he is publishing the opinion essay.

One can find quite a few aspects which ought to be considered while composing an opinion essay.

Generally, essays are written on the basis of the author’s standpoint for or in opposition to a specific topic. This viewpoint is clearly supported by a few specifics and claims which are coming from a reputable origin like a text, gurus, professionals or the internet. The author creating his personal standpoint in the essay cannot only write his own viewpoint because he believes it is appropriate. Right after all these elements have been looked after, the article writer must begin his or her writing effort without delay since these kinds of essays always take time to get completed as the author has to think a lot whilst creating these essays.

This kind of authoring is totally distinct from any other type of essay crafting as the article author has to use his thinking power for the thought part of the composition. For each and every assertion he or she creates in the composition, he or she has to support it using a proper reasoning and proper details. The reasoning completely is going to depend precisely how the author thinks and precisely how wide-ranging are his or her views. Facts can be effortlessly obtained from books and these days web has played a very important part in the fact accumulating approach whilst composing an essay.

The essay ought to be composed in a proficient style in uncomplicated English. The essay must be adequately checked for grammatical and spelling errors before the writer transmits them. To advance on writing essays you should keep practicing by publishing repeatedly and reading the works written by other authors. This might help create innovative strategies and also may make you ponder on the points which other people have had trouble with.

By: Dr. Mark Clayson

About the Author:

The essay is the first section of every SAT. Therefore it is essential to write a great essay. The essay is worth a maximum of 240 points towards the total writing score of 800. Knowing that you have written a great essay will provide you with the positive momentum necessary to attack the rest of the test. The good news is that the essay topics assigned will be broad enough to allow you to be creative and to adapt your thesis to anything you feel like writing about.

The best way to prepare for the essay is to review your life experiences. Buy a stack of 3″x5″ index cards. Use an index card for any event that had a profound impact on you. Make sure you jot down at least 3 bullet points per index card. For example, let’s say you went on a European family vacation, or had an interesting summer job. Maybe a certain individual taught you an unforgettable skill or lesson. Perhaps you read a book that you enjoyed or witnessed an unusual event, or read something in the newspaper that affected you. All of these index cards serve as “banks” of potential information for your SAT essay. When test day arrives, you will be ready with sufficient substance to include in your essay.

At the start of the SAT, all students are given paper consisting of 51 lines to write an essay. This space is enough for 500 words of average size handwriting. The essay is not a debate. Answer the question by stating your thesis and supporting it with examples. There are no right or wrong opinions. Organization and clarity are more important than being factually correct. An essay should consist of an Introduction, a body paragraph and a conclusion at minimum. It is preferred that the essay be supported by three examples. Always place your strongest argument in the first paragraph of the body. Therefore, if you run out of time, at least the grader reads your best effort.

Use the first two minutes to map out a crude outline. This will help you organize and keep your train of thought. Use the last two to three minutes to check over your writing. Check for run-on sentences, double sentences, or other obvious mistakes that could be easily corrected.

Write neatly! If you have poor penmanship, try printing. If you essay is illegible and the reader cannot read your handwriting you will get a score of zero.

By: Steven Weisman

About the Author:

The truth is that most students follow this suicidal strategy, believing that this would waste time. It would be worthwhile to understand that SAT test graders evaluate your efforts taking the whole of essay, and not just a part of it. So, what is the best strategy to do well on the SAT essay section? Among others, one of the best techniques is to create a general outline of the essay. Let me give you an example to illustrate my point here.

Suppose you have to reach your friend’s place, and you have not been there before. Which strategy would be better- taking you car and rushing into the traffic, asking for directions to his place? OR outlining the directions before setting out? Just as a traveler cannot do without maps, students would not be able to create a good essay without creating an outline. SAT essay graders look for a solid structure in an essay. There are three things a SAT test grader would look for in an essay:

1. Meaningful Progression of Ideas

2. Logical Progression

3. Introduction, Body and Conclusion

When you create an outline, it helps you focus on the essay. It also saves you time. In short, it gives you directions to create an impressive essay. Try a few SAT practice tests, and if you find yourself rambling and running short of time while writing an essay, you surely need to start creating an outline before writing an essay.

You must brainstorm before expressing your thoughts in the form of an essay. If you agree/disagree to a prompt, you should try to outline your thoughts to justify your opinion. Test makers and graders, both know that it is literally impossible for a student to elaborate every aspect of the question.

Here is what the structure of an essay should look like:

1. The Main Idea which Includes including a Thesis Statement

2. Main Body

3. Conclusion

These three points constitutes a proven formula for scoring high on the SAT essay. Do not underestimate or neglect this formula. It has worked in the past, and it will continue to work in future too. The Main Body can be split into two paragraphs. This would make the essay structure distributed across four paragraphs.

There is one mistake you may like to watch out for- skipping the outline process. NEVER think that the outline process would waste your time. On the contrary, by not creating an outline, you would be wasting your time, not knowing where to head while you write one paragraph after another, nursing the misconception that this will impress the Test Grader. Remember, all it takes I just a few minutes to create an outline. And this would guarantee a solid essay.

By: Shashank S

About the Author:

Unlike reading or listening, writing is not an easy task. You need to have three basic writing skills. You should have proper understanding and presentation of a specific topic. When it comes to writing an essay, is not a difficult task. With proper preparation and planning, you can write an essay effectively.

While writing examinations, you may not have enough time for the assimilation and development of a particular topic. You have to manage your knowledge and write within a given time during your examination. So, within that specific time period, you have to manage everything including choosing the topic, planning out and then implementation.

An Essay is a small piece of a writing that deals with the writer’s personal opinion on particular subject. It is such a common term that we have been familiar with it since we all have written the answers to essay writing questions. Here are some of the things you may consider while writing an essay:

Please remember that you do not have much time for writing an essay after choosing the topic. You should first skim through all the options you have before you start writing on one of them. You will get ideas as you start writing.

1. Understand Your Topic

You need to have fair understanding of the topic you are writing on. It should be something you like most. Please make sure that you are not moving away from the main theme while writing your essay.

2. List the Important Point

If possible, you should list the important points that you wish elaborate into your writing and plan out the various sections accordingly. That will greatly help you build up the structure of your essay.

3. Writing Introduction

It is very crucial to give the reader some hints as to what an essay is about. And for that reason, you should write a brief introduction. This will facilitate you with getting started in a right manner.

4. Well Crafted Body

You may organize your knowledge well and present it in a simpler way that the readers can understand it easily. Always keep focused on the main idea and express your opinions objectively.

5. Present Your Ideas Briefly

You are not supposed to divert from the main point. You should present your ideas briefly because writing longer than necessary may not interest the readers. Please remember that page does not count, how you tell in minimum words is more important.

By: Rakesh Ramubhai Patel

About the Author:

Essay writing is never complete without the two most essential parts – introduction and conclusion. Why? Introductions serve as teasers that establish and convey the relevance of the whole essay. On the other hand, conclusions serve as deal sealers that leave strong and persuasive impressions on the readers.

With such great responsibility, introductions and conclusions have to be as powerful as possible. These paragraphs give the readers the opening and ending statements required that can make or break an essay. Brilliant essay writing has two vital factors – attractive introduction and strong conclusion.

Writing good introduction and conclusion is not done in a snap. It entails squeezing of creative juices and sufficient time to research. But there are some important considerations that can guide essay writers in coming up with hip beginning and ending statements.

In Writing Introductions

The introduction is basically designed to grab reader’s attention. It also aims to provide the readers a brief rundown of the essay’s main focus and idea. Remember two main points.

1.	Begin with a bang. An attention grabber opening paragraph is a sure hit in essay writing. How to formulate such? A lot of means are efficient. Here are some:

o	Use startling information
Employing surprising and revealing information has always been a good way to start an essay. Essay writing is an exciting and brain stimulating activity. Using startling facts make readers curious and excited. Therefore it compels them to read more. However, the information must be true and confirmable.

o	Through anecdotes
Using anecdotes is another way to start an essay. An anecdote is a story that exemplifies a point. But the anecdote must be short and genuinely relevant to the topic. This method can be a competent essay writing opener, although, I must be done cautiously.

o	Try dialogues
Using dialogues as an introduction entails crucial scrutiny. The dialogue has to be appropriate and relevant. The readers must be able to understand the point that the dialogue is trying to convey. It is ideal to use only two or three exchanges between speakers to establish the main point. It must still appear as essay writing activity and not script writing.

o	Apply information summary
In writing formal essays, information summary works best. A few sentences citing the general points of the topic can actually lead the readers towards the heart of the essay. It is ideal that each sentence gradually become more and more specific, until it reaches thesis statement.

2.	Finish the opening paragraph with the thesis statement. This is to immediately convey to the readers the essential points that the essay offers.

In Writing Conclusion

Essay writing can never be effective without a closing statement. The conclusion does not only bring closure to the readers, it is a tool so that the essay can leave a strong and compelling impression to the readers. It does not merely sums up the important points of the essay, but it wraps up and provides a personal perspective on the topic.

Conclusions are usually three to four sentences long. It is not advisable to have long and winding ending paragraphs. Three sentences will do. However, these sentences must be powerful enough to achieve the goal of the essay – whatever it might be. Essay writers also have to ensure that the written conclusion emphasizes the value of the main claim.

There is only one key point in essay writing to make it invincible – begin strong, end stronger.

By: Laura Medel Nelson

About the Author:

As a first step let us get all the ambiguity out of the way. As the name implies, the only purpose a persuasive essay is to persuade. It should convince the reader to see your view point and agree with your proposition. The topic should be structured concisely, well defined and debatable. Your topic sentence should state your position. This sentence should not be a fact. Facts are not debatable. In addition, your topic sentence should be clear and precise.

Whatever your argument or recommendation your essay must contain sufficient evidence to support your statements. Preferably the introductory paragraph should state briefly your reasons for supporting your position. The subsequent paragraphs should be an elaboration of these reasons. Your essay should also contain an analysis of opposing views and a strong conclusion as to why your views should be preferred.

The body of the essay will not only expand on the reasoning that you have introduced, but also contain precise evidence, examples, and statistics in support of your reasoning. The evidence you provide should never take the form of generalizations. Each of the paragraphs of the body of your essay should have a topic sentence. And the sentences that follow should support the argument you have introduced.

Coherence between the paragraphs is important. The transition between the paragraphs should be so smooth that the reader is able to follow the reasoning without losing sight of what was said earlier. All subsequent paragraphs should serve to reinforce your position and what was said earlier.

In the body of the essay, where necessary, consider opposing views and counter them. Look at the issue from the point of view of the reader. Try and anticipate the questions for which the reader is looking for answers. This will give the reader the impression that not only do you know the subject sufficiently; but that you also know the alternatives that the reader is weighing and that you are helping the reader make correct choices.

The language you use and the tone you take should be friendly but firm. Being sarcastic and trashing the opposition will only go against you. Let the reader see that your position is not based on any bias but on down-to-earth reasoning. Do not get personal. Avoid personal pronouns.

In the concluding paragraph restate your position and your strongest evidence. The way you do this is very important as this is your final opportunity to make the reader see your point of view. Do not introduce anything you have not stated earlier as this will only confuse your reader. Your closing statement should be so emphatic that the reader is fully convinced about your position. Often a conclusion also serves as a call for action.

Learning how to write a persuasive essay may take a while. Strictly speaking there is no cookie cutter approach to persuasive essays. It may become necessary for you to deal with different topics differently. The best way out is to take a pragmatic approach.

By: Sarah Brodie

About the Author:
